Welcome to The Eyot Centre
Situated on the banks of the River Thames just 300m from historic Henley Bridge, The Eyot Centre welcomes all people. As well as hiring out our extensive modern facilities to the public, it is home to The Henley Canoe Club, The Henley Dragon Boat Club, a Social SUP Club and is a centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The Eyot Centre is a registered charity which provides access to social and river-based leisure activities for the young people of Henley and surrounding areas.
The Eyot Centre provides:
- Facilities for regular paddle sport activities.
- Adventure weeks/weekends combining camping, hiking and paddle sports for local schools, colleges, youth groups and DofE Award participants.
- Coaching and training to gain recognised qualifications in paddle sports activities.
- Fun, sporting challenges for disadvantaged groups aiding their self-development and team-building skills.
- A spectacular venue for weddings, parties and corporate events.
Centre Facilities
The Eyot Centre, offers a number of excellent spaces which are available to hire.
With a hall, kitchen, gym, wet and dry sides, a spacious veranda, boat landing stages and a small slipway, set in 1.4 acres of riverside lawns, we can stage a range of events.
An elegant function space of 8.5m x 14.5 m with a carpeted floor accommodates 100 people seated cabaret style or 150 conference style.
A kitchen with full facilities for serving refreshments. Large functions require a mobile kitchen.
Separate toilets, a gym with a range of exercise equipment is available too.
The Eyot Centre is fully accessible with ramp access and a wheelchair friendly changing room, shower and toilet.
There is a covered viewing platform on the river side.
All weather vehicle parking is available on site for 35 cars and disabled parking is available. Additional parking can be arranged.
The Eyot Centre can provide a wide range of craft. These include:
- Dragon Boats -10 man and 20 man
- Bell Boats – up to 12 man
- Open canoes for single and tandem use
- Kayaks for both competitive and general use
Boat Storage is for club craft with limited space for privately owned craft.
We have direct river access from our landing stages and slip.
We provide paddles, personal flotation devices, safety helmets and spray decks for safe participation.
How to join!
The Eyot Centre is home to 3 ’sections’ – Henley Canoe Club, Henley Dragons and Duke of Edinburgh.
Depending on your interests, you can join one of the sections, or you can choose to become a full member of the centre. This allows you to participate across all sessions, gives you access to our gym and permission to launch your own craft from the centre.
Our membership year runs from 1 April – 31 March. We offer a pro-rata rate for new members joining half way through the year.

Section Membership

This allows you to go out on 2 organised sessions per week with your section (Canoe or Dragons)
Youth Membership
£95 per year
If you are under 25 you can pay this rate to join as a full member
DofE Membership
£170 (Bronze)
